THE RED DUCKS

Oh, I forgot to post something we did one evening, after working in the office.  It just happened to be the night of our first date 42 years ago. (Aug 21) That's worth celebrating!  We went to see something that Kent calls the RED DUCKs.  They are really Scarlet Ibis and they are beautiful.  We boarded boats at about 4:30 and stayed out on the water for approximately 3 hours.  The area is called Caroni swamps.  We travelled through mangrove trees and saw tree crabs, which the Ibis eat, and tree boas (they were creepy) and lots of different birds.  The Scarlet Ibis fly into the swamps every night to nest.  We were able to witness the flocks coming into their nesting area for the night.  It was beautiful.
The red spots on the trees are the Ibis.
