MISSIONARY MINUTES

This is the BEST job in the world!!!  Who gets to rub shoulders continuously with young missionaries who are full of the spirit?  WE DO!  Here are some highlights of our week.

In this pix are Elders Smith, Felix ( you can barely make out his smile in the dark of this night picture), Fauchier and Larson.  This is outside the Elder's apartment in Curepe.  It's much more hot ouside than it looks.

This is inside the Elder's apartment in Curepe.  It's miserably hot inside this apartment!  Should have stayed outside, but we needed to check an ingrown toenail.

We had leadership Council this week with the Zone Leaders from all the countries in the mission.  We do this via SKYPE with those in far away places.  Elder Smith had to do a presentation.

 This is some of the fleet of our race cars.  Those who have cars drive a Chevy Cruze.  We got 9 new cars a month ago and 2 of them have already been in accidents.  Luckily, nobody was hurt.  Driving here is not a safe thing to do.

Elders Ferrin and Scott baptised Michelle Seegobin on Saturday, Sept 7, 2013.  Her 2 children were baptised a few months ago, now the Elders are working on the father.  He's been coming to church.

This is a close up of our cute Elder Felix who reminds us of our Grandson Parker.  It's the smile and the eyes!  He's being a good sport in this pix because he really doesn't feel well.  He was at our apt. seeing the doctor.

And the cute redhead in the middle is Parker.  A little variation in the color, but other than that......

 Companions, Elders Larson and Felix.  They are like Mutt and Jeff, Pork and Beans, Laurel and Hardy.  So funny together.  Elder Larson jokes that he has 1&1/2 companions because he is in a 3-some, but Elder Felix is so short that he only counts as 1/2

 This is the Primary in Sangre Grande Branch.  They are all stuffed together in one room.  I (Lynne) had the privilege of teaching these beautiful children primary songs the other day.  How lucky I am!!!

We had a wonderful activity in the Sangre Grande Branch this week for church members and investigators.  There were about 50 that attended.  Success!!!

 This is Sister Taylor.  Some folks say we look alike.  My thought is that they think all white folks look the same.  Pretty sure I'm not wrong about that!

 Our new friends, Samantha Harrideo and Ashley Ali.  Samantha is 16 and has been living with one of the Sister Missionaries while her companion went home for surgery.  Samantha was a great missionary!  Ashley is not a member of our church but comes with her sister, faithfully, every single week.

We took Elder and Sister Ray to Caroni Swamp to see the Scarlette Ibis this week.  Love doing this!

SOME OBNOXIOUS THINGS WE SAW THIS WEEK THAT WE JUST HAVE TO POST

This snail was outside on our morning walk.  It was as big as a grapefruit!  No kidding!

  Smallest lizard I've ever seen.  It was in Elder Larson's apt.

Yes, we even take pictures of cows!  We've never seen a cow quite like this.  Don't know what kind it is, but we have a picture.  How about that!!!!!!!!

  Don't know what we think about the name of this car.  Perhaps they were trying to copy the name of a VW Jetta.  Hummmm.....
