Our assignment this week has brought an unusual amount of traveling from the gorgeous blue sea on the east to the sea on the west, traversing 2 different islands. But, oh, how we love what we are doing and meeting the wonderful people along the way........plus.....a bright blue house to add to our colorful house collection!!!! Who could possibly ask for more?
We have witnessed the steady growth of the church as our young force of missionaries continue to baptize into the flock.
This is Elder Beck with Nakeesha Harrison (who is being baptized), Elder McCalla, & Elder Jeppson. Elder McCalla is a brand, shiny, new missionary from Jamaica.
We received a whole new batch of missionaries from the MTC this week. Pres. Monson stated "The church continues to grow steadily and to change the lives of more and more people every year. It is spreading across the earth as our missionary force seeks out those who are searching for the truth. Now is the time for members and missionaries to come together, to work together, to labor in the vineyard to bring souls unto Him. Since lowering the age of missionary service in October 2012, the number of missionaries serving in the field has grown from 58,500 to 80,333."
It is amazing for us to watch how people change as they accept the Gospel in their lives. We have witnessed much joy and peace as people desire a positive change that brings them closer to the Savior. "Wise Men Still Seek Him" is a profound truth. Carnal security is a great lie given to man by the biggest lier of all. Great is the peace the Savior brings....and few there be that find it......
As members of the church, please be willing to share the name of a friend, not of our faith, to your local missionaries. Pres. Monson has given us the call! The missionaries depend on the members for this support. Otherwise, they spend much precious time, the Lord's time, simply knocking on doors. Never underestimate the value of a minute in the Lord's work. There's a grand force of missionaries out there....more than has ever been out in the field before. Let's not let this grand force go to waste. "Every member a Missionary"!!!! Are you up to the challenge? "Who's on the Lord's side, who?" Let's do it!!!

In Grenada we held a Family Home Evening for the St. Georges Branch. The theme was on "obedience". After a short lesson, we had an activity with a game of "Mother May I" for the little kids and a maze for following instructions, for the adults. It didn't go exactly as planned, but people seemed to have a wonderful time....and we had food!
On Tuesday night, we went to Gouyave (pronounced Gwave, very weird spelling!) for a FHE with the church "group" which meets there.

On Wednesday, we went to the Government buildings in Grenada to speak with the Minister of Health about a Humanitarian project for the country from our church.
We are hopeful that we can soon get our permits to enter the country to live in Grenada for the next year. As of the end of the week, the permits for 10 new missionaries were ready, but the Labor Ministry said they wanted $1,000 U.S. for each missionary entering the country (It had previously cost less than $20). We flew back to Trinidad, had a Pow Wow with President Mehr and will soon go back to Grenada to do some schmoozing.....or something like that. Doesn't sound very fun! One thing we know for certain, the Lord is in this work. It's His work and Vineyard. If He wants us there, we will find a way.
